Hi there!
I am Bianca Schradër.
I completed by BSc dietetics degree at Stellenbosch University and I am currently in my final year completing my Masters degree also at Stellenbosch University. I will be specialising in paediatric nutrition, advanced GIT diseases, therapeutic nutrition.
I am extremely passionate about my profession and this reflects in the management of my patients. I strive to give my patients the best nutrition advice and I will always be your biggest cheerleader.
I myself have struggled with my weight my whole life. I have been overweight and have lost 20kg twice (yes I did gain it back), with a balanced and healthy approach to food that worked for me. There was no diet, but a change in the way I looked at food and my lifestyle. This equips me with so much insight into what it takes to start and accomplish a weight loss journey. It is not just about calories in and calories out, there is so much more to it.
I have also recently (early 2023) been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis myself. After that, I decided to dive deep into the research and learn as much as I could about this condition. I made it my mission to learn how I can support my body through this journey.
Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with my GP (As many woman do), and decided that I am the one to take control.
Through only 3 months of medication and an optimal nutrition approach, I can testify that my Hashimoto's is currently in remission 7 months later without the use of any medication.
My main areas of interest:
Weight management | Hashimoto's thyroiditis | Thyroid disorders|Gut health | Irritable bowel syndrome | Sports nutrition |Critical care (ICU)|
